Giant Bull Shark Caught in Tampa Bay
This is why you won't catch me diving in the water to cool off when we go fishing. It gets hot on the boat when we're anchored up, especially if the breeze is non-existent. I'd much rather sweat than get eaten!
This is a Bull Shark, often called the "pit bull" of the shark world. Caught off a home-owner's dock on Sunday night, It measured 8 feet,10 inches and is an estimated 650 to 700 pounds.
You can read the story here, but it makes me shake my head. Especially this last line:
"Frank said he called around to local fish markets, but no one was interested. He plans to mount the jaws and return the carcass to the sea."
What a waste. It took three hours to land this shark, why not get a video of it instead? What do you think? Check out the comments following the story in the Times section as well.

In other local news, Billy Donovan might be returning to the Gators. I'm trying to figure out what could make the man reconsider a $27.5 million dollar deal. Holy Smokes!!!! I think it was this comment that got his ire
"Bye Bye Gators. Back to Football you go. Basketball once again belongs to it's rightful owners....the Big 10 and ACC !!!"
Yep, that's the kind of thinking that should make Billy reconsider, stay with Florida and do it again. Word to Coach Donovan, I've got 4 letters for you: UCLA.

The initial angler was a novice fisherman who had been invited to his cousin's house to do some fishing off the dock. He hooked the shark on an 80 pound test line with a 6-pound bonita. His cousin, an experienced angler, eventually called in another neighbor for reinforcement in the ensuing three hour battle.
